You can only hold 10 Ascendant Shards in your inventory with 10 in each of your 3 character’s Postmaster for a total of 40.

Our team will complete the Grandmaster Nightfall with a Platnium score to get a guaranteed Ascendant Shard. You can order up to 40 Ascendant Shards.
